So, this semester I'm in English which you would think is great, right? Wrong. Last year when I started my blogs I was in English and I hated it. My class was slow and didn't understand simple ideas and it drove me insane. I didn't think it was possible to have a worse class than that. Leave it to lovely PA to prove me wrong and put me into the worst English class I have ever experienced.
As a project we had to research some stuff about censorship and we were given a list of books that we could choose one from to read and further explore the topic in further depth. Then we were told to take notes on the book and that just didn't fly. I never take notes on books, ever. So me and my teacher are at the point where I dislike her and will not be cooperative in that class at all.
Though I read The Golden Compass because it was forced upon me, I really enjoyed the book, but not as much as I should have. The plot was really good and the characters were amazing and very well written. I don't have a lot to say about the book because I was in "gotta get this book done because I'm on a deadline" mode while thinking "why would people want this book banned?" so anything that I say will be unfortunate and shouldn't be heard.
I give the book a 6 out of 10 bears. I really should have something higher but my class prevented me from enjoying it. You should read it and tell me your ratings or tell me your ratings if you've already read it. It would make me feel better about how I wasted the book.
