Slaughterhouse-Five has not been my favourite book that I've read so far by Kurt Vonnegut. Although it was really interesting concept, at the time that I read this book, which was recommended to me by a friend, I was reading a lot about WWI and Fritz Haber so this was a big time jump for me which perhaps is why I didn't like it as much.
This, again, is a short review of a book that I've read over a year ago, but I think it's important to think back to books that we've read in the past, even if we can't remember exactly what happened in it.
I really enjoyed the writing style in this book. I thought that it flowed well and allowed the strangeness of the ideas present to be more present.
I would recommend this novel to anyone who has enjoyed Kurt Vonnegut's other works or who is looking to read a modern classic. This is one of the best anti-war books to have been publish and because of that holds an important place in our cultural history.
I give this book a 9 out of 10. I rated it 5/5 on goodreads, which means that at the time I really loved this book. However, because my memory has failed to recall details of this books means that it hasn't gripped me the way a ten does.
